Jancy Walker Audet, the enthusiastic and fashion-savvy founder of Chicago’s Girl on the Go, began her career in the event planning industry where she realized her passion for client service and helping others.
Born in Omaha, NE, Jancy is one of seven family members and the youngest following four older brothers. Jancy learned the ropes of running a successful and happy household by watching and taking direction from her organized and energetic mother as she deftly ran the Walker Family abode.
Jancy decided to combine her Midwestern roots with her love of the big city and move to Chicago to begin her career after graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Fashion Design Apparel Merchandising. While working for a fashion and beauty website organizing large shopping events she realized her passion for planning. Over the next years, Jancy brought her positive energy and experience to everything from weddings to fashion and lifestyle events.
As is the case with most successful entrepreneurs, ideas blossom from the things we are most passionate about. This was definitely true with Jancy, who realized during her years planning events that she loved the one-on-one relationships with clients and managing the various logistical components of event execution.
Jancy realized the opportunity to serve a niche clientele of busy professionals, people who never seem to have time for themselves. Thus, Chicago’s Girl on the Go was started with a mission to help make peoples’ lives easier by doing the things they don’t have time for or just might not want to do!
Running a household is similar to planning a party, but it starts anew every morning: something always needs to be done, fixed or cared for.
In addition to running Chicago’s Girl on the Go, Jancy is a board member of the Chicago Children’s Charities where she participates in their multiple philanthropic efforts and helps plan their various annual events.
